This example of how it can be used shows how a Domino Universal IR controller was programmed to play music tracks on an iPod docked into a Bose SoundDock II.

Domino was programmed to:

  • play / pause the music track,
  • increase or lower the volume,
  • skip a track forwards or backwards and
  • to turn the iPod "off"

All these commands are sent by pressing one of the white buttons or through a switch connected into the Domino opening up the possibility for assistive technology users to play music or podcasts loaded on their iPod or iPhone.

Domino-EPG Infra-Red Remote

Domino-EPG is a large button switch accessible infra-red remote that can be used to select TV programmes through the on-screen electronic programming guide (EPG) found on all modern TV's

The change-over from analogue to digital TV broadcasting in the UK has impacted how viewers select channels and programmes. When conversion is complete all users will select programmes and schedule recordings using the on-screen EPG through their TV or set-top box.

Anyone watching Sky, Freeview or Freesat will already be using an EPG accessed through the remote that came with their receiver. But, individuals with limited hand and finger dexterity may find it difficult to press the small buttons on standard remotes and, instead, prefer to use a large button or switch accessible remote instead.
